Visual Arts at the Sydney Festival

Visual arts is only a fraction of what will be seen at Sydney Festival 2013. This year, the three-week event will feature many artists and their work. One of the visual art pieces that will be seen is Wreck, which will be in display January 11-13 (10am to 4pm) and January 14-17 (10am to 6pm). Wreck is the sight of a rusted car left in the sands of the Australian outback. Artist and composer Jon Rose, has turned an rusty, abandoned vehicle and turned it into a multimedia piece.

Creative sound artists Erkki Veltheim and Claire Edwardes use the metallic sounds, hums, rattles, and creaking sounds to make beautiful music with great intensity and vibrations. The Sydney Herald has called Jon Rose “[Jon Rose] is probably the most controversial figure involved in serious music in this country.
