Wordpress 2.8 Baker Released

Only a few minutes ago, I finished upgrading my Batang Yagit blog to Wordpress 2.8.  The new release was code named Baker comprises of 790 bug fixes and some major improvements. Among the new improvements that I noticed first is the new Dashboard theme’s color. It’s now more vibrant than that of 2.7’s.

Wordpress Internal Server Error 500

How to fix a 500 Internal Server Error in Wordpress

This tutorial is applicable only to a specific situation.  There are several instances wherein Wordpress Installations receive an Internal Server Error (Error 500).  This tutorial is limited only to the CHMOD mis-configurations.  Please check the parameters before trying the instructions below.

I received a 500 Internal Server Error this afternoon on my batangyagit.com, a wordpress 2.7 blog.  A 500 Internal Server Error occurs when there is misconfiguration within your server settings or Apache generates a general error.  A 500 Internal Server Error looks similar to this:

Tnomeralc Update: Day 3

This is the third day of the claremont seo contest and it’s the 2nd time that I was removed from the top of the serps for the keyword tnomeralc web design toys.  My competitor from iamkaiser.com is very persistent in getting the first rank.

Thoughts on the competition

From the looks of it, the techniques I have used earlier are not as effective as I thought.  I was thinking after reaching the top of the SERPs, the ranking trends would stabalize at that point. But I was wrong. At this point, the movement of the SERPs is not stable.  I have moved to the second rank twice since the contest has started.

I’m still looking forward of overthrowing my competitor from the top of the serps. Read more

The Claremont SEO Contest

Just moments ago, I received an IM from a friend telling me about a new SEO contest organized by our friends at Claremont.  The goal of the competition is to top the Google SERPs for the keyword tnomeralc web design toys. The organizers will be giving away a total of $500 as prize money.  The competition will last for two months or until May 3, 2009.  More information about the contest can be found here.

I immediately created my entry for the said competition. Twenty minutes after I published my entry, I ranked 10th in the search results page. A few minutes later after the last time I checked, I ranked 1st.

Bisdak Blogger Mini SEO Contest Results

Last January 14, I have launched a quick mini-SEO contest for the Cebu Bloggers. Apparently, quite a number of people participated in the said competition.
